Welcome to Day 8 of the Evergreen Profits Toolkit Series!
This is the eighth of 10 days of tool madness! Each day we will break down one tool that has completely changed the way we do business. Each of these tools allows us to earn more money and save more of our time.
Let’s get into today’s tool…
What’s The Purpose of PushCrew?
PushCrew is a cool little tool that we’ve been experimenting with for about a year. It allows you to send browser push notifications to people who request them. When someone goes to our Evergreen Profits website for the first time, a little notification pops up and asks if we can send them browser push notifications. If they say yes, we can shoot out a notification that pops up in the top right of the screen when they have their browser open. They look a lot like the notifications you might see when someone messages you on Facebook. Facebook might send you a browser notification.
The power of PushCrew is that you are creating a new “owned audience” with it. Just like with an email list, you have the ability to send messages/notifications to people who are engaged with you. We see some AWESOME results with PushCrew (we’ll show you below).
How We Use It In Our Business:
We pretty much only use PushCrew to announce when a new blog post or podcast goes live. We have noticed that we get better engagement and results when we send notifications to free content rather than paid offers. With a lot more traffic volume, you could probably use it to drive traffic to offers. For now, it’s a great announcement tool to let people know about updates on your site.
As of writing this, we have about 500 subscribers on our push notification list and, every time we send a notification, we receive about 50 clicks on our links. That’s a 10% click ratio. If those numbers hold up and we can put 1,000 people on the notification list, theoretically, we should be able to send 100 clicks or so with every new notification. Not too shabby.
How You Can Use It In YOUR Business:
We highly recommend installing PushCrew on all domains that you own. We currently have it set up on 5 of our websites, including EvergreenProfits.com and all of our niche offer sites and affiliate promotional blogs. Each of these sites have their own “lists” of people who opted in.
Once you have PushCrew installed, here are some ways to use it:
- Sync up your RSS feed in PushCrew so that anytime a new blog post goes live, a notification automatically gets sent out. This makes the whole process hands off. A new blog post goes live and a notification instantly goes out. Simple.
- Send a notification to your lists whenever you launch a new product (for best results, send them to a freebie offer email landing page)
- Schedule notifications out when you want to share content (like an autoresponder)
- Share content that you like from other websites (especially if you have been featured elsewhere)
- PushCrew allows you to upload an image that shows on all of your notifications. Experiment with different images on your notifications. You might find that a different image improves click through rate because it could grab more attention. Test using your company logo, your own headshot, and possibly even a somewhat relevant, funny image. The key is to try to grab attention when those notifications go live.
Get PushCrew Now:
Here’s the deal with PushCrew… you can most likely get away with a free account for a while. You’ll be able to sign up 2,000 people to your list and send an unlimited amount of notifications. We ended up upgrading to a paid tier because we wanted to create multiple lists and take advantage of some advanced features.
We highly recommend to just get the free plan and start growing a list. Just like with growing an email list, the more people you have on there to communicate with, the more money you’ll make! This is another “owned audience”, just like your email list, chatbot list, and your Facebook groups/fan pages. This is part of building out your platform and it works really well.
Get PushCrew right now and install it on your site. It’s quick to get it running and all non-techies should be able to figure it out 🙂
Thanks for reading and we’ll see you tomorrow with another handpicked marketing tool!
